Rooms: Perched on a dramatic cliff top, the Lodge is comprised of 21 organic luxury suites, each with welcoming panoramic views of the great Southern Ocean and boundless coastal wilderness. Featuring an environmentally sensitive design, every consideration has been given to navigating the fine balance between nature, comfort and contemporary style. Locally commissioned designer furnishings, recycled timbers, hand cut limestone walls and sandblasted floors complement a groundbreaking sustainable philosophy to promote a true and unique sense of place. All suites feature lavish King beds, sunken lounge, dramatic glass walled bathroom, heated floors, complimentary room bar, music system and an outdoor terrace with occasional seating and daybed.

Dining: Dining at Southern Ocean Lodge is both a dynamic delight for the senses and a true gastronomic journey of Kangaroo Island; the ‘produce to plate’ approach is a real passion for Chef Jack Ingram and his team. Celebrated as Australia’s culinary capital, the rich soils and pure rains of South Australia inspire artisan growers to produce a bounty of premium, fresh and often organic food and wines. As Australia’s third largest, the island is 155km long by 55km wide. Located at Hanson Bay on the Island’s south-west coast, the Lodge is a 50 minute drive from the airport or 90 minute drive from the ferry terminal. Transport options to and from Kangaroo Island are many and varied for domestic and international travelers.
