Vienna at Christmas Time – Video
Back by popular demand, we bring you another “Holiday Edition” for our December Travel Video Share and we’re making it a double feature! (Okay, maybe we just like Christmas and want to share a little Christmas spirit again this year.) At any rate, we are taking you to Vienna, Austria, a city whose artistic and intellectual legacy was shaped by the likes of famous residents such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Sigmund Freud. It’s also one of Europe’s most beautiful cities and a place where Christmas celebrations (and decorations) are taken very seriously, as you will soon see in both of these short films. Vienna today is robed in 18th-century charm and 19th-century grandeur. Its old-world ambience comes not only from its rich cultural traditions, but also from the history of its architecture. The Viennese invented the cafe society, and they continue to perfect the art of sophisticated relaxation.
Speaking of relaxation, let’s sit back and enjoy these two videos. Both were shot during the holidays last year. The first was created by Ukrainian-based photographer Alexander Tovstiy, and the second by Romanian-based photographer Mihai Doarna. Each filmmaker brings his own unique style to their work, which makes for an interesting contrast, although both give the viewer an enjoyable taste of Vienna during this time of year. And if this double feature doesn’t completely satisfy your appetite for getting into the Christmas spirit, feel free to revisit our Christmas Magic video share from last year, which highlights a few other Christmas markets in Western Europe, by clicking here.
Happy Holidays from Avant Travel! Enjoy!
